specialized lawn care treatments

Our personalized lawn treatment plans are tailored to your lawns specific needs. We soil test every new lawn and develop a treatment plan based on the results of that individual soil test. Our treatment plans consist of six applications, spring fertilizer, spring weed control, summer fertilizer w/grub control, fall fertilizer, fall weed spray, winter fertilizer. Each of these applications play a crucial role in maintaining a healthy lawn. Customers have the option to pick whatever applications they would like for the year. We highly recommend a minimum of four applications per year to give your lawn the best chance to get, and stay healthy. Our prices are dictated by the square footage of your lawn so prices will vary. Dethatching

This service removes the old thatch layer from your lawn. A thick layer of thatch can prevent water, air, and nutrients from reaching the soil and roots making your grass susceptible to disease and pests.

Slit seeding

Slit seeding is a good option when you have an area of your lawn that has thin or patchy grass that needs help filling in.

re-seeding

A patch of grass that dies off due to disease or white grubs, sometimes the easiest thing to do is to just re seed the area and start over. Even though it sounds bad, the turn around to growing new grass is pretty quick when done correctly.

Lime applications

Lime plays a critical role in the overall health of a lawn. Most lawns in Pennsylvania look their best and are healthiest when their soil pH is between 6.0-7.2. Lawns can become more acidic over time from rainfall, leaf decay, root growth among many other things. Keeping your soil pH in this range will maximize your lawns ability to take up and use all the nutrients that are available in the soil. Lime applications can be done anytime of year.

Lawn disease applications

There are a variety of diseases a lawn can get. A few of the most common in PA would be dollar spot, red thread, rust, brown patch. We deal with these types of diseases every year and have the knowledge and products to cure any of these diseases before they cause too much damage to your lawn.

Core aeration

Core aeration alleviates soil compaction, prevents excessive thatch buildup, and loosens soil so that roots can dig deeper and grow more densely. By removing small plugs of soil from the lawn—a technique called core aeration—tiny pockets form throughout the turf, creating space for air, water, and essential nutrients to effectively penetrate the soil and reach the roots. The presence of these pockets alleviates compaction, enabling your grass to develop deeper and stronger root systems while promoting the efficient uptake of crucial growth elements.

Lawn pest applictations

Some of the most common lawn pests in PA are white grubs, chinch bugs, sod webworms, army worms(2021 infestation in PA). White grubs are very destructive and can ruin a beautiful lawn in no time. The best way to ward off white grubs is to put down a fertilizer with grub control in early summer which we offer as one part of our six step fertilization/weed control program.

Top Dressing

The top dressing process involves applying compost, soil, or sand over the surface of your lawn in order to add organic material and restore balance, all while building better soil and increasing soil flora. When combined with core aeration, it buries that organic material deeper into the ground, which in turn helps to reduce traffic stress, relieve compaction problems, and assist in water retention.
